Course Information

Introduction

This five-day course trains response teams to manage real incidents from first alarm to recovery. Sessions focus on command structure, decision-making, communications, and restoring critical functions. Instruction is scenario-based and includes tabletop and live exercises. Teams finish with concrete procedures they can apply immediately to reduce operational and reputational harm.

Objectives

1. Establish and operate an incident command structure, assign roles, and document responsibilities for an active response.
2. Lead coordinated actions across internal teams, external agencies, and vendors to stabilize incidents and protect people and assets.
3. Produce and deliver clear crisis communications for executives, staff, regulators, and the media under time constraints.
4. Apply decision frameworks and checklists to triage issues, prioritize tasks, and allocate resources during the first 24 hours of an incident.
5. Design, run, and evaluate tabletop or functional exercises and create an actionable after-action report with prioritized improvements.
